Aiyisha Obafemi

Creative innovator, results-oriented marketing and brand- ing strategist, Aiyisha T. Obafemi is an entertainment executive with over 30 years of expertise, creating impactful marketing and branding solutions for high-profile clients across the sectors of music and entertainment, beauty and publishing . Her zeal for music began at a young age when she traveled the world with her mother who sang with Miriam Makeba and Nina Simone. Currently based in Atlanta as the CEO & Founder of The Blue Nile Group, Co-CEO & Founder of The A&D Agency and Founding Partner of Keeping Score Media, Aiyisha ties together all of her skill sets while managing and consulting clients as it pertains to achieving their individual and/or company goals. Alicia Arnold:

Dr. Alicia Arnold is a Board Certified General Surgeon and Fellowship Trained Breast Surgical Oncologist at the Georgia Cancer Center with affiliation of the Augusta University Medical Center. She was born and raised in North Carolina and attended UNC-Chapel Hill where she completed her pre-medical degree. She completed medical school in 2011 at the Georgia Campus of PCOM. She completed five years of general surgery training at Augusta University. She decided to specialize in breast surgical oncology to help other breast cancer survivors like herself. She completed an additional year at the University of Miami-Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL to become a fellowship trained breast surgical oncologist. She now is employed by the Georgia Cancer Center to lead the breast cancer program as the primary breast surgeon. She treats patients with benign and malignant breast disease, and assists in other surgical oncologic needs.

Dr. Barbara Joy

Dr. Barbara Joy is a physician, educator, and passionate advocate for advancing women's health and wellness. With extensive experience in clinical care and patient education, she is dedicated to helping women make informed decisions about their health through accessible, evidence-based information. Dr. Joy is known for fostering meaningful conversations around preventive care, reproductive health, and overall well-being, while championing equitable access to quality healthcare.   Dr. Lauren Powell, MD: Dr. Lauren Powell, MD is a board certified physician, founder, and national voice in food as medicine, metabolic health, and wellness equity. Through her work as The Culinary Doctor®, she is helping individuals, communities, and organizations transform the way they think about health through practical, everyday wellness.

Bontle Moka

Bontle Moka is a South African-born writer, marketing professional, and passionate endometriosis advocate dedicated to raising awareness, amplifying patient voices, and creating spaces for healing and connection. Through her advocacy work with the Heal Endo Movement, Moka uses storytelling, education, and community engagement to highlight the lived experiences of people affected by endometriosis and chronic pain. With a background in marketing, partnerships, communications, and content creation, Moka combines strategic storytelling with advocacy to advance conversations around women’s health. Her work includes writing, social media engagement, fundraising, and community-building efforts focused on addressing the silence and stigma often surrounding endometriosis. Through her advocacy, professional work, and storytelling, Bontle Moka continues to inspire conversations about women’s health, resilience, and the importance of ensuring that people’s pain is acknowledged, understood, and addressed.

Carmen Jones

Carmen Jones is an entrepreneur, community builder, author, content creator, and advocate for authentic connection and sisterhood. She is the Founder and CEO of The Black Girl Social Club (BGSC), a global community created to provide Black women with intentional spaces for friendship, personal growth, wellness, and meaningful connection. Founded in 2019 after a transformative gathering with a group of women, BGSC was created from Carmen’s vision of building a supportive environment where Black women could connect openly, celebrate one another, and cultivate relationships rooted in compassion, leadership, service, and integrity. Under her leadership, the organization has expanded into a national and global network offering curated events, conferences, networking opportunities, and community-building experiences. A proud Howard University alumna, Carmen brings a diverse background in communications, entertainment, media, and entrepreneurship. She has worked in television production, event management, public relations, and interviewing, with experience engaging notable figures in entertainment and culture. She is also the founder and executive director of BGSC Jr., the nonprofit arm of the organization focused on supporting young girls ages 11–21 through mentorship and healthy relationship-building.

Dr. Charis Chambers

Dr. Charis Chambers was born in Nashville, Tennessee to Crandall and Charlette Chambers. Dr. Chambers attended Spelman College in Atlanta, GA where she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in the spring of 2008. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2010 with a degree in Biology. She attended medical school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and completed OBGYN Residency at Greenville Memorial Hospital in 2018 where she was inducted into the prestigious medical society of Alpha Omega Alpha. She is currently in fellowship training for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology with plans to join her father and brother in their OBGYN practice back home in Phenix City, AL / Columbus, GA. She launched her social media platform, The Period Doctor, in the summer of 2019, after recognizing an unmet need for medically accurate women’s health information and minority physician representation in social media outlets. While her life’s journey, both personal and professional, has been challenging at times, she feels extremely blessed knowing exactly where her help comes from. Her favorite verse is 2nd Timothy 1:7, “God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and of a sound mind.” She attributes her tenacity and resilience to her late mother who taught her again and again to speak up, laugh off the little things, and love without apology.

Christelle Niamke

With 18 years of combined experience in compliance, operations, and HR, Christelle G. Niamke leverages her organizational strength and attention to detail to bring structure to complex environments. Through her ventures, all named Ubora, Swahili for excellence, she builds solutions across maritime compliance, women’s design, and infertility community leadership. Whether advising yacht professionals on regulatory oversight, designing garments for women navigating recovery after surgery, or writing Hope After Infertility, she is always looking to make an impact. Before embracing full-time entrepreneurship, Christelle worked in financial services at various firms including Morgan Stanley, Blackstone, and Bank of America. Now she applies that same expertise to create stress-free experiences for her clients.

Coach Gessie

Coach Gessie Thompson is a nationally recognized health activist, entrepreneur, author, and advocate for women’s reproductive health and wellness. A fibroids survivor and infertility advocate, Coach Gessie has transformed her personal health journey into a mission to empower women and families through education, prevention, and holistic wellness. After experiencing a 14-year battle with uterine fibroids, infertility, multiple surgeries, IVF treatments, and life-threatening health complications, Coach Gessie became a powerful voice for raising awareness about the impact of fibroids and health disparities affecting Black women. Her journey to motherhood and healing inspired her to share her story and advocate for greater awareness, early intervention, and patient empowerment. She is the Founder of TheDeToxNow.com, a holistic health and wellness platform focused on helping individuals address chronic health challenges through education, lifestyle changes, and wellness resources. She is also the author of Hope Beyond Fibroids: Stories of Miracle Babies & the Journey to Motherhood and End Fibroids: Manual + Guide, using storytelling and advocacy to support women navigating reproductive health challenges. Coach Gessie’s advocacy work has been featured on platforms including OWN’s documentary Eggs Over Easy, ESSENCE, USA Today, Women’s Health, and other national media outlets. She has shared her message at major events focused on women’s health, wellness, and equity, and has been recognized for her efforts to advance conversations around Black maternal health and reproductive justice. Through her work as a speaker, author, and wellness entrepreneur, Coach Gessie continues to inspire women to prioritize their health, advocate for themselves, and move from surviving health challenges to thriving in wellness.

Danielle Mitchell

Danielle S. Mitchell is the CEO and Founder of Black Women In Clinical Research (BWICR), a global platform dedicated to increasing the visibility, representation, and advancement of Black women in the clinical research industry. Through BWICR, Mitchell works to create opportunities for professional development, mentorship, networking, and leadership growth while addressing longstanding disparities in clinical research participation and workforce representation. Daphnee Duplaix

Daphnee Duplaix boasts an illustrious acting career that has spanned over two decades. She currently stars as Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson on BEYOND THE GATES. On television, Duplaix was a series regular in the television soap opera “Passions,” playing Valerie Davis. Fhonia Ellis

Fhonia Ellis is a first-generation fashion designer and tailor whose passion for creating bold, expressive clothing began at just 15 years old. What started as customizing her own jeans to reflect her personal style quickly evolved into a lifelong career in fashion design. Inspired by the fearless creativity of designers such as Betsey Johnson and the late Alexander McQueen, Ellis developed a distinctive aesthetic that blends innovative craftsmanship with individuality. Her talent for custom design soon attracted high-profile attention, including NBA player Derek Anderson, who commissioned her to create a signature line of jersey dresses for his clothing store. Ganesa Wegienka, PhD

Ganesa Wegienka, PhD, is an epidemiologist who has been working for more than 25 years to understand risk factors for and effects of uterine fibroids as well as understand the clinical care experience of women. She is a Senior Staff Scientist at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit where she has led the efforts of important fibroid and gynecological health studies including the Study of Environment, Lifestyle and Fibroids (SELF); COMPARE-UF; ALOFT; and the Detroit Hysterectomy Study. She is committed to providing evidence that will improve health and clinical care for all women.

Dr. Holly Miller

Dr. Holly Raass Miller, MD, FACOG is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist at A Woman's Place in Naples, Florida, where she has provided comprehensive women's healthcare since 2009. She earned her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rush University Medical Center. After practicing in Jackson, Tennessee, she returned to Naples, where she spent part of her childhood, to continue her commitment to caring for women throughout every stage of life. Dr. Miller specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including robotic-assisted (da Vinci®) hysterectomy, myomectomy, endometriosis surgery, laparoscopy, and office-based procedures such as hysteroscopy and endometrial ablation. She also has expertise in high-risk obstetrics and adolescent gynecology, combining advanced surgical techniques with compassionate, patient-centered care. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG).Dedicated to improving women's health in Southwest Florida, Dr. Miller is an active member of the American Medical Association and the Collier County Medical Society. Outside of her practice, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, reading, and running.

Dr. John Lipman

Dr. Lipman is a board-certified interventional radiologist who is globally recognized for his unparalleled expertise in fibroid treatment, particularly uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), with over 10,000 procedures performed. He is renowned as the world’s most experienced UFE physician. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Lipman is an award-winning public speaker and an accomplished author, contributing extensively to academic and medical journals. Through his research, he advances the understanding and treatment of fibroids, solidifying his position as a leading authority in the field.

With more than two decades of journalism experience, she is known for her thoughtful reporting on film, television, music, celebrities, and the ways popular culture shapes broader conversations around race, politics, and society. She reports across CNN's digital and television platforms and has interviewed some of the world's most influential entertainers and cultural figures. Before joining CNN, France worked as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times and The Baltimore Sun, and served as editor of St. John's University's alumni magazine. Dr. Mikhail Higgins

As a native of Nassau, Bahamas, Dr. Higgins is the Bahamas’ first fellowship-trained and U.S. board-certified interventional radiologist, offering minimally invasive nonsurgical treatment for uterine fibroids and other ailments in collaboration with his team at Family Medicine Center in Nassau, Bahamas. Dr. Higgins is the founding President and Medical Director of the Bahamas Fibroid & Interventional Clinic (BFIC, https://bahamasfibroidclinic.com), a clinic dedicated to providing holistic, nonsurgical solutions and lifestyle optimization strategies for women suffering with fibroids.

He initially established BFIC in 2023 with the mission to optimize access across the Caribbean to cutting edge, nonsurgical, uterine-sparing, minimally invasive fibroid treatment. Through BFIC, Dr. Higgins has deepened his commitment to curbing the epidemic of fibroids in the Caribbean by supporting educational public and corporate awareness campaigns, special community outreach programs, as well as customized medical tourism Health and Wellness experiences in the Bahamas and across the diaspora. Since 2023, BFIC has expanded its outreach beyond the Caribbean to support a Fibroid Travel and Treat Program which welcomes women traveling from the U.S., Canada, Europe and Africa to its member sites in the U.S. and The Bahamas.

Since launching his Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) program in the Bahamas in 2021, Dr. Higgins has successfully treated hundreds of women both from the Bahamas and across the Caribbean. This has resulted in his initiative’s recognition in the Bahamian press and media and his establishment of the once obscure field of Interventional Radiology (IR) as a now widely known source of a definitive treatment option for women suffering with uterine fibroids of any size in the Bahamas and across the Caribbean.

Prior to returning to the Bahamas in the Fall of 2023 to launch his dedicated minimally invasive fibroid treatment clinic, BFIC (pronounced “bif-ic”), Dr. Higgins served 5 years as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at Boston Medical Center and Boston University School of Medicine. He served as Director of Medical Student Education for the Department of Radiology as well as the Program Director for the Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology Program at Boston Medical Center. He currently serves as Chair of the American College of Radiology’s Appropriateness Criteria Interventional Radiology 2 Expert Panel. He also serves as the Chair of the Coalition for Culture Transformation and the Advancement of Opportunity for the Society of Interventional Radiology. He is the Founding Chair of RISQCS, the Radiology Interventions Safety Quality and Complications Symposium, a global Continuing Medical Education Patient Safety meeting which has been endorsed by the Society of Interventional Radiology.

He was nominated by AuntMinnie.Com as a Global Semifinalist for Most Influential Radiology Researcher in 2020. In 2021, Dr. Higgins was inducted into the Boston University Medical Group’s Clinical Excellence Society. He has received numerous awards and honors including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society, the Isadore Meschan Award for Academic Excellence in Radiologic Sciences, Outstanding Community Service Award, the Cortlandt Van Rensselaer Creed Award, the William Cranley Medical Student Teaching Award, and the Ignition Award. Monique Nelms

Monique Nelms is an entrepreneur, fashion influencer, and former registered nurse best known as the founder and CEO of A Daily Diva, an Atlanta-based luxury fashion and designer consignment business. After earning her degree from Howard University, Nelms began her career in nursing before transitioning full-time into entrepreneurship in 2017 to pursue her passion for fashion and luxury retail. Today, Nelms specializes in making luxury fashion more accessible by sourcing authentic designer brands—including Chanel, Balenciaga, Fendi, Versace, and Louis Vuitton—and offering them at more attainable prices. Through A Daily Diva, she has built a reputation for exceptional customer service, personal styling, and helping women feel confident through fashion.

Necole Kane

Necole Kane is a serial entrepreneur and the Founder & CEO of My Happy Flo, a women's hormone health company on a mission to help women experience healthier, less painful menstrual cycles. After building and exiting the award-winning media platform xoNecole, she turned her focus to women's health after confronting her own menstrual health challenges and recognizing the disproportionate impact fibroids and hormone-related conditions have on women, particularly Black women. Today, she is a passionate advocate for women living with fibroids, helping them navigate heavy menstrual bleeding, debilitating period pain, and hormone health through education and evidence-based solutions. Under her leadership, My Happy Flo developed one of the only clinically tested women's hormone health supplements shown to support lighter menstrual bleeding and reduce period pain, helping address two of the most disruptive symptoms experienced by women living with fibroids. Through her work, Necole is helping ensure more women know they have options, ask better questions, and never accept suffering as normal.

Rep. Park Cannon

State Representative Park Cannon serves the citizens of Georgia’s House District 58. The new District 58 includes a diverse cross-section of intown Atlanta within Fulton County. Specifically, Westview, Harris Chiles, Ashview Heights, AUC, The Villages at Castleberry Hill, Castleberry Hill, Vine City, Downtown, Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, Poncey-Highland, Southwest Atlanta, Laurens Valley, Campbellton Rd., Adams Park, Venetian Hills, Oakland City, Bush Mountain, and the West End. In 2021, Rep. Cannon was named “Legislator of the Year” by the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.

She currently serves as the Secretary to the Georgia House Democratic Caucus, and is assigned to six committees (Ethics, Insurance, Public and Community Health, Creative Arts & Entertainment, Human Relations & Aging And Urban Affairs). Her legislative efforts focus on reproductive justice, as she is a full spectrum doula, with issues such as access to quality health care, housing, and education. Rep. Cannon seeks to stop the erosion of affordability for basic needs, which she believes are the foundations of social stability. She also devotes her legislative work to protecting Georgia’s most vulnerable citizens: women and children, the elderly and the LGBTQIA+ community. These communities are often the most at risk for losing their homes and access to quality health care.

During previous legislative sessions, Rep. Cannon has centered her efforts on legislation that addresses maternal mortality rates and the HIV epidemic in Georgia. Rep. Cannon has partnered with some very brave and upstanding members of the state legislature from all corners of Georgia to ensure access to the HIV-preventive treatment, PrEP, securing funding for HIV health navigators at Grady Hospital, addressing housing affordability and extending protections to victims of family violence and sexual assault.

Rep. Cannon attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Linguistics and a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics, and minored in Women’s and Gender Studies. During her time at UNC Chapel Hill, Rep.

Cannon was named a Camões Award Recipient and inducted into The Order of The Old Well. She also participated in the Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s Executive Education State and Local Government program. She was named by the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) as a Bohnett LGBTQ Leaders Fellow and studied police accountability.

In service to SisterSong, the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, NOBEL Women, the League of Women Voters, The People's Uprising and the NAACP, Rep. Cannon was awarded the “Fresh Legislator” and “Joan Garner Service” awards. Rep. Cannon was named a CALS Fellow and Henry Toll Fellow by the Council of State Governments. She has also participated in the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Regional Leadership Institute.

She was unlawfully arrested in March of 2021 upon knocking on the Governor’s door to protect voting rights and her charges were dropped as the world watched in shock.

Dr. Soyini Hawkins

Dr. Soyini Hawkins is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and fellowship-trained Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon dedicated to advancing women’s health through specialized care, education, and advocacy. She is the founder and medical director of the Fibroid and Pelvic Wellness Center of Georgia, where she provides comprehensive treatment for women experiencing uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, endometriosis, and other complex gynecologic conditions. Dr. Hawkins earned her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine, completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Maryland Medical Center, and pursued fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She has extensive expertise in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, uterine-preserving fibroid treatments, and the management of chronic pelvic pain conditions. Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Hawkins is a passionate advocate for women living with fibroids and endometriosis. Having personally experienced these conditions, she uses her voice to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and empower patients to become active participants in their healthcare decisions. She is recognized nationally as a thought leader and speaker on women’s health issues and has been featured in outlets including Good Morning America, MSNBC, Essence, and USA Today. Through her medical expertise, advocacy, and personal journey, Dr. Hawkins is committed to helping women move beyond suffering and live healthier, more informed lives.    

Tanya Leake

Tanya Leake is a greens-eating, loud-laughing, dance-performing, recipe-trying, self-loving coach who is passionate about supporting others in re/discovering their best, healthiest selves…and practicing what she preaches. A mindset and lifestyle coach on a mission to reframe conversations about wellness and aging, Tanya is the creator of various coaching models and frameworks designed to help people reframe a healthy mindset and empower a healthy lifestyle. She is co-founder of GYNConnect, a suite of tools and services supporting disease prevention and lifestyle support for people born female as a followup to her previous initiative WeKNOW (Women embracing Knowledge Necessary for Our Wellness).  One of these tools is HOT FLASH! Dr. Veronica Gillispie-Bell

Dr. Veronica Gillispie-Bell is a nationally recognized obstetrician-gynecologist, women’s health expert, and public health leader whose work focuses on improving health outcomes for women across the lifespan by transforming clinical care, health systems, and policy. With deep experience at the intersection of patient care, quality improvement, and health equity, her mission is to eliminate disparities and make women’s healthcare safer, more effective, and more responsive to the communities it serves.

She serves as System Medical Director of Health Outcomes and Medical Director of Quality for Women’s Services across Ochsner Health, where she leads system-wide strategies to improve clinical quality, safety, and outcomes in women’s healthcare. She also directs the Minimally Invasive Center for the Treatment of Uterine Fibroids and is a Professor at Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine. Clinically, Dr. Gillispie-Bell is known nationally for her expertise in managing heavy menstrual bleeding due to fibroids and performing advanced laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgeries.

In addition to her clinical leadership, Dr. Gillispie-Bell is a nationally respected authority in public health and quality improvement. As Medical Director of the Louisiana Perinatal Quality Collaborative and Pregnancy-Associated Mortality Review for the Louisiana Department of Health, she has led statewide initiatives across more than 40 hospitals that have improved care processes, strengthened systems of accountability, and reduced severe maternal morbidity. Her work has helped shape both state and national approaches to improving women’s health outcomes through data-driven, equity-centered solutions.

Her expertise has informed federal and state policy, and she has testified before Congress, and was an invited speaker at the inaugural White House Maternal Health Day of Action. She has also advised the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Federal Communications Commission.

Dr. Gillispie-Bell serves on several national committees, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ Committee on Clinical Practice Guidelines – Obstetrics, where she serves as Vice-Chair of the Committee, and the National Network of Perinatal Quality Collaboratives Executive Committee. Her leadership has been recognized with honors including the American Heart Association Women in STEM Award, Delta Omega Honor Society in Public Health, and Top Women Leaders of Louisiana. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine.
